Between the high gloss raised bands there are clusters of tiny spheres of silver. These are created by individually heating pieces of silver until they reach a certain temperature and form a ball.

These tiny spheres are then laid onto the piece one at a time. They are then oxidised to produce a blackening contrast, followed by a deep polish to enhance the meticulous workmanship the Balinese are world famous for.
